The veteran service company aims to ease the full return of Dutch veterans into Dutch society and to generate understanding and recognition for their work and unique skills they’ve gained during their work as an international peacekeeping soldier.
Returning veterans may experience difficulties feeling comfortable back home. While just trying to adapt to civil life and society after being deployed in theatre can be very challenging on its own, the sometimes added physical, psychological or emotional complaints as a result of stressful life during military operations can make it even harder to fit in back home.
Veterans may experience problems finding a new job after leaving the service, or missing the military culture of comradery and blindly trusting your colleagues. Also, many veterans are confronted with the misunderstanding or lack of appreciation for the important work they have done under difficult and risky circumstances.
Veterans’ military experiences have taught them unique qualities. They’re well known for their ability to be great team players, resistant to stress, focused and committed towards their work. Enviu, in collaboration with Dutch veterans, works on the development of a business solution which contributes to strengthening the position of the Dutch military veteran within Dutch society.
